Vehicle Is Part of Indonesia’s Goal of EV Mass Production This Year
UQM Technologies said Tuesday that Jakarta-based PT Sarimas Ahmadi Pratama is using its PowerPhase Pro 135 drivetrain its 17-passenger battery electric bus – expanding the Colorado company’s global customer base.
“The all-electric bus is contributing to the Indonesian government’s ambitious target to begin the mass-production of electric cars and buses in 2014,” UQM said. PT Sarimas chose the UQM unit based on its power density and efficiency, “as well as UQM’s ability to meet the demand of global performance requirements.”
“We have designed a broad line of electric motors and controllers to address the specific needs of the growing electric and hybrid commercial vehicle worldwide market,” UQM president and CEO Eric Ridenour said in the announcement.
