Installs ChargePoint CT4000s to Help Bring Building Up to Date
Emmes Realty Services has installed electric vehicle chargers in a San Diego office building in a bid to make the facility more attractive to forward-looking companies with EV-driving employees and clients.
Emmes has invested in 15 CT4000 Level 2 units from ChargePoint, each capable of charging two EVs, on three different parking levels at the 707 Broadway building. The building “now offers the largest concentration of publicly-available EV chargers in San Diego,” Emmes says.
“At 707, we’re focusing on innovation and creating a smart workplace for the future,” Emmes VP Jordan Johnson says in a release.
‘It Is Important to Embrace This Technology’
“With electric vehicles becoming more popular, we believe it is important to embrace this technology now,” he said. The building is close to San Diego’s East Village, Gaslamp District and B Street Corridor.
Emmes notes that EV charging station availability information, and reservations, are accessible via the ChargePoint app, which can be downloaded on any smart phone.
In addition to the 30 EV charging stations at 707, Emmes is offering amenities like a tenant-only fitness center, a fully-outfitted game room, a customer service manager and “a healthy vending micro-market that’s open 24/7 to service tenants’ food and beverage needs.”
EV Compatibility to Attract Talent
“We are excited about re-energizing 707 and being able to deliver premium services and amenities that appeal to an ever-more discerning workforce,” Johnson said.
“In turn, this should help growing companies at 707 attract, engage and retain top talent.”
Emmes and its affiliates own and operate four high-rise office buildings in downtown San Diego totaling approximately 1.45 million square feet.
Emmes is offering free parking and charging at 707 for electric vehicles through August 31.
