Target Is 500 LMP Battery Cars and 200 Charging Stations in Indianapolis

France’s Bolloré Group has disclosed plans to invest some $41 million in “the largest electric car sharing service in the United States,” in Indianapolis.

BlueIndy is slated to launch on Wednesday, September 2. Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard is to be on hand, as will Bolloré Group development VP Cédric Bolloré.

Bolloré plans the eventual deployment of 500 electric Bolloré Bluecars powered by the firm’s lithium metal polymer batteries. The fleet is to be supported by 200 charging sites.
