New Brand and Logo for the Re-Born Extended-Range Luxury EV
The Fisker Automotive and Technology Group said last week that the company’s name is being changed to Karma Automotive – the name of Fisker’s now-discontinued luxury range-extended electric vehicle.
“With new ownership, a new management team, and a new production site, all here in California, it was time to communicate change,” Karma chief marketing officer James Taylor said in a release.
The name “Karma,” the company says, “was chosen because it is relevant to both the old and new brands, while providing an aspirational message which embodies the company’s purpose.”
‘Your Actions Create Your Future’
“Karma is based on the principle of cause and effect,” said Taylor, “where your actions create your future. This awareness of what we are doing and why we are doing it – which we characterize as acting with intention—is what we stand for, it’s authentic.”
The company, now a unit of the Wanxiang Group, is widely reportedly to be mounting a challenge to Tesla on behalf of “Chinese billionaire” Lu Guanqiu.
Details about Karma’s new car are to be released next year.
