Battery Electric Car Is Available in 49 Countries, Automaker Says
‘Meaning the Core Phase of the Market Introduction Is Finished Now

BMW is talking up the worldwide success of its 100% battery electric i3 car. After being on the market for two years, the car “has established itself at the pinnacle of its segment worldwide,” the manufacturer says: it’s the best-selling EV in Germany and the third best-seller worldwide.

In Germany, one in every four electrically-powered vehicles sold since the BMW i3 hit the market has been a BMWi3. “Globally,” says the automaker, “it is one in ten.”
