Five new cities are being added for the Fia Formula E 100% battery-electric racing circuit’s third season, which is to kick off in Hong Kong on October 9 and conclude in New York City on July 29-30, 2017.
The other new cities approved by the FIA World Motor Sport Council are Marrakech, Brussels and Montreal, which will host two races next July.
The new FIA Electric Mobility Forum is planned for January 7 in Las Vegas.
‘One of the Most Interesting and Innovative Championships’
“Formula E is all about showcasing fully-electric racing together with the most iconic landmarks in the world – and the calendar for next season certainly matches our ambitions,” Formula E CEO Alejandro Agag said in a release.
“It’s fantastic to be able to bring Formula E to new markets, but more importantly to new fans,” he said. “It will be great to finish the third season in New York, pending the approval of all the relevant stakeholders.
