‘DC Fast Charge With Just the Swipe of a Finger’

EVgo, which now boasts a network of more than 980 DC fast-chargers nationwide, has launched a new app for Apple/iOS and Android devices “empowering drivers to DC fast charge with just the swipe of a finger.”

EVgo’s new app allows for card-free for EV charging with a ‘robust mapping functionality to find the closest EVgo station (or anywhere).’

The EVgo Mobile App simplifies electric vehicle charging, the company says, “by enabling EV drivers to find and navigate to their closest charging station, check charger availability and start a charging session without carrying around an access card.”

The app features new swipe-to-charge capability, and “provides drivers with a quick and easy method for tracking their charging session time.”

“EV’s are continuing to gain widespread adoption and the sales of EVs are becoming a larger percentage of overall car sales,” EVgo CEO Dave Schembri says in a release.

“New tools, such as the EVgo app, will allow EVgo to deliver the highest quality customer experience to the growing number of EV drivers hitting the road,” he said.

EVgo opened its 950th EVSE/electric vehicle supply equipment installation in league with New Jersey’s Public Service Electric and Gas this past summer (F&F, July 21).
