Variant Launched at the NTEA Work Truck Show in Indianapolis
Hino Trucks took the occasion of this week’s 2013 Work Truck Show in Indianapolis to offer a double cab version of its Class 5 COE 195 cab-over-engine truck. The option is available on the 195h hybrid electric as the 195h-DC. The 2014 model year truck is arrive at Hino dealers in June.
Hino employs a 19,500-pound GVW chassis on the COE 195 “for class-leading payload capability.” The truck has a 5-liter engine rated at 210 horsepower with 440 foot-pounds of torque, mated with Aisin’s A465, 6-speed automatic transmission. It meets U.S. EPA 2010 limits with SCR (selective catalytic reduction).
The 195h boasts a “sixth-generation” hybrid drive.
Like the new 195h-DC, the 195h hybrid was launched at the Work Truck Show in Indianapolis – in 2011.
“The four-door, six-person double cab is redefining driver comfort with its optional magnetic suspension seat in a cab designed to accommodate drivers up to 6’6” tall,” Hino says.
The 195 double cab is “a perfect fit for a wide range of applications such as landscape, towing, moving, storage and construction,” Hino Truck VP for marketing and dealer operations Glenn Ellis said in a release in Indianapolis.
“Hino’s cab-over is the practical choice for the urban operator and his team,” Ellis said.
A Handy New Smart Phone App Too
All Hino cab-over models are offered with a 3-year “HinoWatch” roadside assistance and 5 year/175,000 mile engine and transmission warranty.
Himo has also launched a new app for smart phones with information on dealers, quick access to HinoWatch roadside assistance, updates on parts ffers and access to Hino social media on the web.
“Today’s drivers rely on mobile devices to stay connected,” said Ellis. “We developed this app with the driver in mind and to easily connect our customers to our ever growing dealer network.”
