As Much as 80% of Hybrid Upfit Costs May Be Reimbursed
As ‘Fleets Have Reported Up to 30% More Miles Per Gallon’
Crosspoint Kinetics is spreading the word that its Kinetics Hybrid, an aftermarket hybrid electric system for trucks and buses, qualifies for funding through the Drive Clean Chicago voucher program.
Owners and operators of Class 3 through Class 7 buses and trucks that run in the Chicago area can now get up to 80% of the Kinetics Hybrid cost reimbursed.
To qualify for the grant, the converted vehicles must be operated at least 75% of the time in the six-county area including Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry and Will counties.
‘Easy to Install and Easy to Use’
“These vouchers are a great way for fleets to go green and reduce vehicle pollution around Chicago,” Crosspoint Kinetics product director John McNichols said in a release.
“Fleets have reported up to 30% more miles per gallon and a comparable reduction in emissions when the hybrid is used in heavy start/stop duty cycles like those found in Chicago,” Crosspoint Kinetics says.
The Kinetics Hybrid “is engineered to be easy to install and easy to use, with minimal driver training and no extra steps for the driver to take,” the firm says. The system has been validated by more than 9 million miles of driving by public and commercial fleets throughout North America.
