BMW Plans 330e Plug-In Hybrid Sedan

PHEV for 2016 to Have 22 Miles of All-Electric Range

BMW plans to add a plug-in hybrid electric sedan to its 3 Series line-up in 2016. The BMW 330e is to have a combined output of about 250 horsepower with 310 foot-pounds torque (preliminary numbers) and a top speed of 140 mph – also preliminary.

The car is expected to be able to accelerate to 60 mph in about 6.1 seconds. All-electric range will be “up to 22 miles.”
