Chicago-Area HVAC Provider Taking Four Chevy Vans
XL Hybrids reports the installation of its XL3 hybrid electric drive in four Chevrolet Express vans for the Climatemp Service Group, which provides commercial heating and cooling equipment and HVAC maintenance services in the Chicago area.
“We expect XL Hybrids’ technology to enhance our fleet’s fuel efficiency, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions,” Climatemp GM Paul Szymczak says in XL’s release.
“Our XL3 system requires no driver training, no special plugs, or charging or fueling infrastructure,” said XL Hybrids co-fonder and COO Clay Siegert. “The Climatemp team can focus even more on their customers,” he said, “and spend less time at the gas pump.” Family-owned Climatemp has a 20-vehicle fleet, he said.
XL Link Telematics Too
In addition to the fuel-saving XL3 drive, Climatemp’s four new Chevy Express vans are equipped with the cloud-based XL Link fleet vehicle connectivity and analytics system. XL Link measures miles-per-gallon performance, fuel savings and carbon dioxide reductions “to confirm the XL3 hybrid system is delivering a return on investment and enhancing clients’ sustainability initiatives.”
