New England Detroit Diesel Allison for Replacement Bus Packs
EnerDel has named Boston area-based New England Detroit Diesel Allison Power Products as a distributor for its Vigor+ ESS/energy storage systems for buses with the Allison H40/50 EP parallel hybrid electric drive.
The Buy American Compliant-compliant EnerDel packs employ lithium ion technology as a replacement for the vehicles’ original NiMH/nickel metal hydride battery packs, occupying the same space onboard but enhancing bus performance (F&F, September 8, 2014).
NEDDA will handle accounts in Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island, EnerDel says. “Through NEDDA’s service network EnerDel will be able to strengthen its presence in the market,” states a release.
More for NEDDA Customers
EnerDel notes that NEDDA already provides sales, service and support for new or remanufactured Allison transmissions and Allison hybrid drives in the New England market.
“EnerDel enhances New England Detroit Diesel-Allison’s product portfolio to our transit customers by offering advanced battery technology which offers increased charging capacity, battery life and service intervals,” NEDDA operations manager Arjen Steegstra says in the EnerDel announcement.
