Preliminary Agenda Released for May’s Meeting in Dallas with
All the Alts: Propane, EVs, NGVs, the NACFE/Carbon War Room
Organizers of the 2015 Alternative Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo have released the agenda for the meeting to be held May 4-7 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas – and event registration has opened.
Partners for ACT Expo 2015 include the Propane Education and Research Council, the Electric Drive Transportation Association, the North American Council for Freight Efficiency and Carbon War Room for a new Trucking Efficiency emphasis, and NGV Global for natural gas vehicles – the meeting will cover the entire gamut of alternative fuel and advanced technology/hybrid vehicles.
As such it is the largest gathering of its kind in North America. ACT Expo is organized by Fleets & Fuels publisher GNA – California-based Gladstein, Neandross & Associates.
‘Range of Efficiency Technologies’
The ACT Expo 2015 partnership with the Trucking Efficiency activity of NACFE and the Richard Branson-founded Carbon War Room was announced this month. Trucking Efficiency aims to double the freight efficiency of North American goods movement.
“Given the collaborative nature of the event, ACT Expo is an ideal venue to actively engage fleet managers, OEMs and manufacturers on the range of efficiency technologies available in the market today,” said NACFE executive director Mike Roeth. “I look forward to exploring these efficiency solutions with the fleets and manufacturers attending ACT Expo, and helping fleets go farther with their fuel.”
Better Productivity, Lower Emissions
“NACFE and CWR’s commitment to ACT Expo reinforces the industry’s increased focus on efficiency technologies as an integral part of the advanced clean vehicle discussion,” says GNA. Trucking Efficiency emphasizes aerodynamic improvement systems, idle-reduction, 6×2 axles, tire pressure monitoring systems, and driver training programs. The and related measures “will enable fleets to improve productivity, save fuel, and meet emissions standards.
The Electric Drive Transportation Association announced its participation in ACT Expo 2015 at the end of September (F&F, September 30).
“This alliance will focus on delivering an expanded electric drive agenda component to show how the industry is meeting growing charging infrastructure demand,” EDTA said, promising a wide range of hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fuel cell vehicle technologies on the exhibit hall floor.
EDTA Sees a Wider Audience
The association expects a forum “for expanding the reach of EDTA’s members to a global audience of public and private fleets, OEMs, engineers, policy makers, government entities and many others.”
“Leveraging ACT Expo’s well-established reach into the fleet market will allow us to further grow awareness and promote the benefits of electrified transportation to wider consumer audience,” said EDTA president Brian Wynne, “connecting with fleet operators at a true one-stop shop. ”
Registration for ACT Expo 2015 has opened with early bird rates of just $650 – or $295 for fleets.
The deadline for submission of presentation abstracts for ACT Expo 2015 is being extended until December 31.
