Early May Event Will Cover All of the Alternative Fuel Vehicle Options
Organizers of ACT Expo 2015 have released the full speaker roster for the event that’s now less than two months away. The Alternative Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo takes place May 4-7 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas. It is North America’s largest alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles event, encompassing all weight classes and vehicle types.
The Propane Education and Research Council returns as a Presenting Sponsor of ACT Expo, and the Nissan Leaf organization is onboard as a Presenting Sponsor for the first time. The NGV Global world natural gas vehicles organization comes to ACT Expo for the second year running. The Electric Drive Transportation Association is joining in with its annual expo too.
As previously announced, Frito-Lay North America productivity and sustainability senior VP Gregg Roden and Waste Management president and CEO David Steiner are keynote speakers at ACT Expo 2015 on May 5 and May 6, respectively.
BP Capital and Clean Energy Fuels founder T. Boone Pickens is a featured speaker on May 5.
ACT Expo attendees will get an inside viewpoint, from the perspective of leading fleets “on why it’s inevitable that oil prices will continue to head north.” ACT Expo organizer (and Fleets & Fuels publisher) Gladstein, Neandross & Associates promises that attendees will learn how alternative fuels “are helping these fleet operators mitigate the impact of volatile petroleum prices, proactively address continually tightening emissions regulations, and gain a competitive advantage.”
ACT Expo 2015 Fleet Perspectives speakers:
- Elizabeth Fretheim, director, logistics sustainability, Walmart;
- Mike Whitlatch, global energy and procurement VP, UPS;
- Mayor Greg Ballard of the City of Indianapolis;
- Drew Cullen, senior VP for fuels and facilities services, Penske;
- Gary Thomas, president and executive director, Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART);
- Scott Perry VP, supply management and global fuel products, Ryder System;

ACT Expo 2015 attendees will gain special insight on how host state Texas is leading the clean transportation charge with the recent filing of Senate Bill 12, which will provide financial incentives for state agencies, counties, and cities to purchase alternative fuel vehicles. The new legislation is aimed at providing a roadmap for other states to follow to transition their fleet vehicles from gasoline and diesel to cleaner, cheaper domestic alternatives.
ACT Expo 2015 Texas Industry Insight speakers:
- David Porter of the Railroad Commission of Texas; and
- Michael Williams, Texas Education Commissioner.
Also at ACT Expo, representatives of major vehicle and equipment manufacturers will share their views how the clean transportation market is evolving and what exciting new products are in store for the future.
ACT Expo 2015 Technology Insight speakers:
- Susan Alt, senior VP for public affairs, Volvo,
- Mike Reding, sales support and international operations VP, Toyota; and
- Rusty Rush, chairman, president, and CEO, Rush Enterprises.
Last but not least, clean transportation professionals who come to Dallas will hear dozens of fleet case studies helping them determine which technologies and efficiency measures offer the greatest advantage – based on paid miles, routes and logistics, refueling accessibility, grant funding, maintenance costs, and more.
Full registration to ACT Expo2015, covering all conference sessions, workshops and networking events, is just $750, or $395 for fleet representatives. Admission to the Expo Hall only on May 6 and May 7 is $50.
