The Old Official Handle Was Applied Natural Gas Fuels, Inc.
Call them Applied LNG. That’s what people do anyway, and now it’s the official name for the former Applied Natural Gas Fuels, Inc.
“Whether in liquid form or as a feedstock for CNG applications, production, distribution and marketing of LNG has historically been the focal point of our company,” Applied LNG president and CEO Cem Hacioglu said in a release this morning.
“As we increase our LNG production capabilities and expand our distribution footprint throughout the United States, we wanted our name to better reflect our business model and express our belief in the important role LNG will play in meeting America’s future energy needs.”
Applied LNG notes that it was established in 1995 and is the second-largest producer and distributor of LNG in the U.S. The firm “provides infrastructure and advisory services in LNG storage, fueling and delivery systems, and executes turn-key solutions that include equipment leasing, temporary and permanent station installations, and technical and safety training.”
Applied LNG is expanding its LNG plant in Topock, Ariz. and is building a new one in Midlothian, Texas (F&F, March 18).
