Vedder-FortisBC LNG Opening

First of Its Kind in Western Canada

Vedder Transport and the FortisBC utility will open a full-service liquefied natural gas cardlock fueling facility in Abbotsford, B.C. on December 1. It will be the first of its kind in the region, offering diesel as well as LNG.

British Columbia’s Vedder Transport began deploying a fleet of 50 LNG-fueled Peterbilt 386 trucks with 15-liter engine systems from Westport Innovations late in 2011.

Separately, Vedder Transportation Group president Fred Zweep will receive an NGV Champion Award at the NGV Global 2012 world natural gas vehicles meeting in Mexico City this week.

“It’s about the cornerstone of success based on the collaborative efforts of Vedder Transport and our partners FortisBC, Peterbilt Pacific and Westport Innovations,” Zweep said in a release.
