‘Transportation Fuel For a Better Bottom Line’ Meeting Theme
NGVAmerica has picked the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta for the 2013 North American NGV Conference & Expo – to be held November 18-21. It is the first time in nearly two decades that the association has hosted its annual conference in the Southeast, having last convened in Atlanta in 1994 (and in Orlando in 1992).
Natural gas vehicle market development in the Atlanta area and, more generally, the southeast region, was a major determinant in picking the George venue, NGVAmerica says.
AGL Resources, the parent company of Atlanta Gas Light and six other gas distribution companies including two others in the region (Chattanooga Gas and [Miami] City Gas of Florida), “has committed to strong promotional support and backing, as have other southeast gas company members.”
Return to a User/Fleet Orientation
The theme this year will be Transportation Fuel For a Better Bottom Line, marking a return to an “outward focused” conference and exposition – a departure from the 2004-2012 NGV stakeholder-oriented gatherings.
“The surge in NGV interest, fleet deployment and station development activity in recent years prompted NGVAmerica’s Board of Directors to direct staff to once again format the program to be more customer-focused with multiple tracks and breakout sessions, and an exposition complete with vehicles, equipment and services,” states a release.
