Republic Services Deploys 23 New CNG Trucks in Minnesota
Republic Services reports deployment of 23 compressed natural gas solid waste and recycling trucks in the Twin Cities area of Minneapolis-St. Paul. The new CNG fleet, which will fuel at a new Republic station, will replace older diesel powered trucks, the company said.
The new trucks are Peterbilt 320s with ISL G engines from Cummins Westport, says John O’Neal, general manager for Twin Cities collections for Republic Services in Eden Prairie, Minn.
Republic says that it operates a fleet of more than 1,400 CNG vehicles and 26 natural gas fueling stations nationwide. “Approximately 50% of all Republic vehicles purchased in 2013 are powered by the domestic fuel source,” states a release.
