March 11 for Natural Gas Maintenance Facility in Santa Fe Springs, Calif.
Ryder System is hosting a grand opening of its maintenance facility for natural gas vehicles in Santa Fe Springs, Calif. on March 11.
The facility, engineered to meet NGV compliance standards, will provide maintenance services for commercial transportation customers that lease and rent their fleets from Ryder. In addition, the facility features a full service rental counter for businesses that need heavy duty vehicles on a short-term basis.
Ryder has deployed NGVs with fleet customers in California, New York, Michigan, Texas, Arizona, Utah, Georgia and Louisiana – and just last month disclosed plans to train all of its North American maintenance personnel to handle NGVs.
Training Its Techs Too – All of Them
The decision affects more than 6,000 maintenance and service employees across a network of 800 maintenance facilities (F&F, February 18).
About 90% of the Ryder’s NGVs are fueled by compressed natural gas. The company has fielded LNG/liquefied natural gas-fueled trucks in California, Texas, Utah and Georgia.
