$100,000-Plus – ‘Third in as Many Years’ for Dual Fuel Upfits,
Work to be Done by Rush Using Momentum CNG Fuel Systems
The American Power Group is talking up a follow-on order worth more than $100,000 for its V5000 dual fuel upfits from a Midwest fleet.
It is “the third $100,000-plus follow-on purchase order in as many years” from the customer, says APG – which isn’t naming the customer for competitive reasons.
The V5000 conversion allows diesel trucks to run primarily on natural gas, while preserving the ability to run on diesel if necessary.
‘A Testament to Their Satisfaction’
“This order marks another customer who has converted cumulatively more than 20 vehicles in their fleet to APG’s turbocharged natural gas dual fuel solution over an extended period of time,” APG CEO Lyle Jensen said in a release.
“We believe this commitment is a testament to their satisfaction with our performance, ease of use, and favorable economics, especially in this era of lower-priced diesel,” he said.
‘Leadership’ in Dual Fuel Trucks
“We believe APG provides the best dual fuel conversion technology at the lowest total cost of ownership available in the market, which has allowed us to solidify a leadership role in the domestic dual fuel vehicular conversion market,” Jensen said.
The APG equipment and compressed natural gas fueling equipment for the trucks will be installed by Rush Truck Centers using CNG hardware from Momentum Fuel Technologies, which started installing the dual fuel systems this past November (F&F, November 8).
The firms have targeted the 13- to 15-liter heavy-haul segment “where APG’s dual fuel technology,” Jensen says, “is the only effective alternative fuel solution.”
