Pennsylvania’s Fyda Energy Solutions has expanded its alternative fuel offerings to include propane autogas vehicle conversions, joining the Alliance AutoGas network as the newest certified conversion center, Alliance AutoGas reports. The Fyda Freightliner affiliate will tackle vehicles including police cruisers, taxis and cabs, and cargo vans.
Fyda performs alt fuel retrofits and provides maintenance support for fleets. Prior offerings include dual fuel conversions using OIGI (Oil Ignition Gas Injection) equipment from the UK’s Hardstaff (F&F, August 29).
“Fyda Energy Solutions recognizes the importance of reducing costs for fleet owners and managers,” business development director of Tim Hooker said in a release.
Propane “offers great savings for fleets,” he said.
Fyda propane conversions utilize the bi-fuel Prins VSI system from American Alternative Fuel, the founding partner of Alliance AutoGas. The converted vehicles need less maintenance and have an extended engine life.
Fyda “will be a vital part of the Alliance mission to run more American fleets on environmentally friendly, affordable autogas,” Alliance AutoGas president Stuart Weidie says in the announcement. “Saving money on fuel without losing power or range makes autogas a smart choice for fleets.”
Fyda is based in Canonsburg, Pa., serving dealerships in Pittsburgh, Barkeyville and Dunningsville, and has a location in Columbus, Ohio servicing Cincinnati, Columbus and Youngstown.
