The Maryland Energy Administration is to release details of its new electric truck incentive program by year-end.
The program was announced by Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley at October’s U.S. Army-Calstart HTUF 2011 meeting in Baltimore (F&F, October 17).
The program budget is $500,000, with as much as $20,000 available per eligible electric vehicle. Trucks must be Maryland-registered, and operate at least 75% of the time in Maryland.
In addition to MEA, agencies and organizations involved with the new incentive program include the Maryland Departments of Transportation and Environment, Maryland Clean Cities, and the Maryland Motor Truck Association.
