Home Improvement Firm Improves Autogas Infrastructure
The Propane Education & Research Council is talking up the Menards hardware chain’s installation of three dozen public propane autogas fueling stations at store locations in Illinois – and a 37th at its headquarters in Eau Claire, Wisc.
In addition, says PERC, Menards has converted its fleet of 140 new Ford pick-up trucks to propane autogas.
The fueling stations are a collaborative effort between CleanFuel USA and Ferrellgas. CleanFuel USA provided PRO2110 dispensers and 1,000-gallon propane tanks, and Ferrellgas provided installation services and propane for each location.
Menards partnered with Icom North America to convert the 140 Ford trucks to propane autogas for the 37 Menards locations and according to PERC plans to convert its fleet of lift trucks to propane operation. Medards stores carry an array of propane-fueled products too, PERC says.
‘Cut Costs, Slash Carbon’
“Menards has embraced public propane fueling as a solution in a variety of applications including fleet vehicles, bottle service, and propane generators,” PERC president and CEO Roy Willis said in a release.
“Menards has joined the ranks of companies that have seen how propane autogas can help them and their customers cut costs and slash their carbon emissions—all while getting the job done.”
