Construction Begins on Research & Technology Facility in Asheville,

The facility was announced early this year when the Alliance took over full distribution of Prins propane equipment in the U.S. (F&F, February 12).

“It is important for Prins to have R&D close to the market,” Netherlands-based Prins CEO Bart van Aerle says in an Alliance release. The new Center, he said, “gives the organization the ability to implement new technologies faster, therewith bringing new EPA-certified applications to the U.S. market more quickly.”

Direct Injection from Prins

Prins awarded Alliance AutoGas U.S. distribution rights, through Blossman, in January 2013. In addition to its VSI line of vapor sequential injection gear, Prins has a complete line of liquid injection systems, direct injection systems and diesel blend technologies.

The Direct LiquiMax-2.0 system by Prins ‘is equivalent to the original petrol injection technology and makes maximum use of the electronics and components already present.’

Among the newer Prins products is the Direct LiquiMax-2.0, described as “a master-slave system… designed for engines with a direct fuel injection system.

“The Direct LiquiMax-2.0 system is equivalent to the original petrol injection technology and makes maximum use of the electronics and components already present,” Prins says. It’s applicable to both dedicated-propane and bi-fuel propane-gasoline conversions.

A Resource for Fleets

“We continue to strengthen our position as the nation’s leader in propane autogas by providing autogas systems to run on the most common engine platforms used by fleets,” said Blossman Gas and Alliance AutoGas president Stuart Weidie.

“Our AutoGas Research and Technology Center will be available to fleet managers and our certified conversion centers across the country who will participate in training and educational opportunities,” Weidie said. “This will allow the Alliance Autogas network to perform quality conversions and provide the maintenance necessary to keep vehicles running at peak performance.”

The Autogas Research and Technology Center is to open in the spring of 2014.
