Blossman Teaming with Canada’s BL Energie for Diesel Displacement

Canada’s BL Energie and Blossman Services unveiled a new joint venture – BL Energie USA – to develop, certify, market and sell propane-diesel dual fuel systems for heavy duty Class 7 & 8 trucks. The technology, from Prins in the Netherlands, can displace enough costly diesel to reduce overall fuel costs by 20%, states the Tuesday announcement. updated March 12

“We are offering an alternative to carriers interested in converting new or existing trucks to propane autogas,” BL Energie Canada president Yvon Boisclair says in the release. His firm has converted more than 150 Class 7 and Class 8 diesel trucks with Volvo, Detroit Diesel, Cummins and Caterpillar engines since setting up shop in 2009, he said.

A 14-liter Detroit Diesel engine is undergoing certification testing now.
