Cal ertification Applies to 6.0-Liter GM V-8 in Isuzu NPR HD,
Wider-Ranging U.S. EPA Certifications Are Expected to Follow
Arizona-based Campbell-Parnell reports California Air Resources Board certification of its propane autogas-gasoline bi-fuel upfit of the 6.0-liter General Motors V-8 engine in the Isuzu NPR HD.
“Campbell-Parnell is the first and only company in North America to acquire this level of certification for the vehicle outfitted with the General Motors 6.0 V-8,” the company says.
“As the NPR HD is one of the most widely used vehicles with commercial fleets, the Campbell-Parnell system drastically reduces fuel cost, as well as the vehicles carbon footprint,” states a release. “It even extends the life of the engine due to a serious reduction of carbon induction, thus further reducing operational cost.”
National Rollout Planned with More Vehicles Covered
“We will in the very near future will be rolling our CARB certifications into EPA certifications,” co-founder Tom Campbell told F&F.
“CARB is a fixed vehicle and engine family,” he says, while “EPA will be a much wide range and will cover all GM 6.0L engine families from 2010 to 2016 in both the medium and heavy duty classes.”
