Focus Is on Delivery, Shuttle and Work Truck Vehicles
Icom North America today reported U.S. EPA certification of its liquid injection gear for converting model year 2015 Ford Transit vans to dedicated propane autogas or propane autogas-gasoline bi-fuel operation. The certifications apply to the 3.7-liter Ford engine, Icom said.
“These fleet platforms are focused on delivery, shuttle and work truck vehicles allowing fleets to enjoy dramatically reduced fuel cost and meet their sustainability goals with an abundant domestic fuel,” states a company release
“Icom is continuously increasing its vehicle offering of EPA Certified Platforms available for our fleet customers allowing a complete coverage for new and existing vehicles,” Icom national fleet accounts VP Brad Wagoner says in the Transit announcement.
Transit Represents ‘An Outstanding Opportunity’
“This platform application is an outstanding opportunity for up-fitters, shuttle bus and Ford dealers across North America,” Wagoner said.
Icom autogas fleet development specialist Ronny Martinez points to “seamless integration, performance and reduced fuel cost… We have a large order bank of Ford Transit systems both dedicated and bi-fuel versions utilizing a variety of tank options.”
Icom says that more certifications are coming.
