Indianapolis Public Schools Get 100 CE Series Vehicles
With Power Solutions International’s 8.8-Liter Engine
Navistar’s IC Bus has fulfilled its largest propane autogas-powered school bus order to date, as 100 CE Series vehicles with 8.8-liter engines from PSI/Power Solutions International have been delivered to the Indianapolis Public Schools.
“This order demonstrates our customers’ continued confidence in our products and acknowledges the significant benefits of our propane engine offering,” IC Bus VP and general manager Trish Reed, said in a release.
“We are excited to refresh nearly half of our fleet with the propane powered CE Series buses and look forward to seeing the benefit of using an alternative, clean burning fuel to transport our students safely and on time,” Indianapolis Public Schools transportation director Monica Coburn says in the IC Bus announcement.
Midwest Transit: ‘100% On Time’
The buses were delivered by IC Bus dealer Midwest Transit Equipment, of Whitestown, Ind.
“We got the order in May and delivered 100% on time to the school district by July 25, Midwest Transit school bus sales director Stephen Ball told F&F.
IC Bus opened the order book for the PSI propane-powered CE Series vehicle last year (F&F, March 2, 2015).
The buses are built in Tulsa.
