Two-Year Deal for Ultracap-Based Engine Start Module for Trucks
San Diego-based Maxwell Technologies has entered into a two-year agreement with Vipar Heavy Duty to distribute Maxwell’s Engine Start Module.
“Vipar Heavy Duty is North America’s leading network of independent aftermarket truck parts distributors that consists of 129 stockholder distributors with approximately 550 retail store locations throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico,” Maxwell senior business portfolio manager for trucks Jeff Brakley says in a blog post.
“Vipar Heavy Duty distributors are specialists who understand the demands of their local, regional and national customers for quality parts and exceptional service,” Brakley said. “The company is ideally suited to handle the ESM.”
More than 2,000 Maxwell ESMs in Service
Maxwell’s ESM was introduced in late 2011 for operators experiencing difficulty starting their trucks after powering sleepers and lift gates. There are now more than 2,000 in service in North America.
The Maxwell ESM became available this year as a factory option on Kenworth T680 and T880 trucks, too.
