Previous rounds resulted in grants totaling $1.7 million for home EV chargers from May 2011 through June 2013 and, subsequently, approximately $1.1 million for more than 1,000 residential and 13 commercial EVSE (electric vehicle supply equipment) installations through this past November 13.

The proposed Charge-Up LA! extension would run from March 1 of this year through June 30, 2018. “The program goal is 1,500 residential rebates and 5,000 commercial (public and workplace) charger rebates,” states an LADWP staff summary.

Maximum expenditures under the proposal would be capped at $21.5 million.
