TruStar Station West of Chicago is Waste Hauler’s Ninth

Advanced Disposal this week opened its ninth compressed natural gas fueling facility: a TruStar Energy station in Batavia, Ill., immediately west of Chicago. “Fourteen of the company’s trucks fill up at the station every night and keep the greater Batavia community cleaner and greener every day,” states a release.

“This number will increase as the company replaces retiring diesel trucks once their useful life has expired,” states a release.

“Approximately 12% of our collection routes run on CNG,” Advanced Disposal CEO Richard Burke said in a release, adding, “We will increase our CNG fleet to 15% by the end of 2015.”

ANGI Compression

The Macon CNG station was a $1.6 million investment and according to the Advanced Disposal announcement is the only multi-truck CNG station in the metro area. About a fourth of Advanced Disposal’s collection routes in the Macon area run on CNG.

The Macon station has twin 200-horsepower ANGI Energy-packaged compressors with 40 time-fill hoses and provision for 40 more, says Advanced Disposal procurement VP Chad Mark.

Advanced Disposal’s sixth CNG station, also built by TruStar, opened last year in Detroit (F&F, June 3, 2014).

Station to Support 56 New CNG Garbage Trucks for City of Detroit

TruStar Energy reports the successful start-up of a new compressed natural gas fueling installation in Detroit for Advanced Disposal, noting that it’s TruStar’s sixth for the hauler. The station will support 56 new CNG-powered garbage trucks for weekly trash collection for 125,000 Detroit households.
