The federal government continues to support research to further the use of natural gas vehicles, targeting low pressure onboard vehicle storage techniques as a way to reduce costs related to today’s high pressure tanks, freeing vehicle designers from the constraints imposed by heavy, bulky (and expensive) CNG cylinders.

Registration Deadline for Kickoff Meeting is Friday

November 16 is the online registration deadline for the Methane Opportunities for Vehicular Energy kickoff meeting being held December 6 at the Hilton Crystal City at Reagan National Airport outside Washington, D.C. MOVE is a $30 million initiative of the U.S. DoE’s Advanced Research Projects Agency – Energy, which recently made multiple awards aimed at better and cheaper compressed natural gas vehicle fuel tanks and home fueling (F&F, July 13).
