Premium, Intelligent Chargers for Material Handling Applications

AeroVironment this morning introduced its PosiCharge ProCore brand series of electric vehicle chargers aimed at forklift and other material handling vehicles. The manufacturer describes ProCore as “a premium intelligent charging family that supports and charges any material handling battery.”

AeroVironment’s new line of ProCore chargers for material handling vehicles can support any battery – ‘regardless of type, brand, voltage or size,’ the company says. They are also the first such chargers designed to be controlled via a mobile app.

AeroVironment’s new line of ProCore chargers for material handling vehicles can support any battery – ‘regardless of type, brand, voltage or size,’ the company says. They are also the first such chargers designed to be controlled via a mobile app.

The new chargers range in power from 5 kilowatts for lower-duty vehicles to 30 kilowatts “for the hardest-working electric forklifts.” In addition to being compatible with any battery type, the new chargers are said to be the first designed to be programmed and controlled from a mobile device app.

Low Utility Costs

With 93% peak power efficiency and a low overcharge factor, “ProCore is the most efficient electric forklift charger available with the lowest monthly utility costs,” AeroVironment says.

ProCore chargers require minimal floor space and no specific training to mount, install and update. A modular design makes ProCore easy to maintain, upgrade and repurpose, “and its robust, single port architecture makes it highly customizable.

“Additionally, PosiCharge standard multivoltage capabilities allow different forklifts with different batteries to charge on the same ProCore charger, independent of type, brand, voltage or size.”
