UL-Certified GPV14 LPG Unit for the U.S. and Canada

Blossman Services says that it’s now the sole North American distributor of Staubli’s UL-certified GPV14 LPG nozzle for propane autogas vehicle fueling. Blossman handles equipment supply for the Alliance AutoGas network.

Just like fueling with gasoline: Staubli's UL-certified GPV14 LPG propane autogas nozzle features quick auto-connect and ‘80% faster fueling compared to natural gas and diesel,’ says Blossman Services, now its exclusive distributor for North America.

Just like fueling with gasoline: Staubli’s UL-certified GPV14 LPG propane autogas nozzle features quick auto-connect and ‘80% faster fueling compared to natural gas and diesel,’ says Blossman Services, now its exclusive distributor for North America.

The Staubli nozzle is lightweight, ergonomic, “and as easy to use as a standard gasoline nozzle,” Blossman says. It is designed for “completely safe maneuverability,” with automatic operation that minimizes the risk of mishandling.

Features of the Staubli nozzle include quick auto-connect, 80% faster fueling compared to natural gas and diesel, auto shut-off at 80% capacity, “and an auto-disconnect that stops the flow of propane should you drive off while still connected.”

‘A Huge Difference’

In addition, Blossman says, no gloves or protective eyewear are required when using the nozzle. “The quick connect technology brings autogas refueling into the modern age at the fuel pump,” the company says.

“It’s a huge difference in what it looks like, sounds like, and feels like to the user,” Propane Education & Research Council chief business development officer Tucker Perkins says in a Blossman release.

No Gloves, No Goggles

“No gas comes from the nozzle unless it’s connected,” Perkins says, “and when you release the nozzle handle another feature becomes evident: a fugitive emissions reduction of almost 80% with every vehicle refueling stop. No longer are gloves required; no longer are goggles required. It’s a very positive experience.”

“The fleets associated with Alliance AutoGas will now have the security that vehicle operators will be using the safest autogas nozzle in the world – the Staubli, which emits only .4 ccs of fuel, a reduction of 1.5cc, when disconnecting,” said Alliance AutoGas president Stuart Weidie.

Phoenix Joins Alliance AutoGas

Alabama Outfit Offers a Wide Range of Propane and CNG Upfits

Alliance AutoGas is spreading the word that Alabama’s Phoenix Energy Corp has joined its national network of propane autogas conversion centers.

PhoenixEnergyAlliance AutoGas is the authorized U.S. distributor of Prins autogas systems from The Netherlands. Phoenix already has experience with Prins propane vehicle maintenance, says company president Ken Hyde, and installs propane hardware from suppliers including Impco, Technocarb and Zavoli.

“Phoenix Energy is happy to partner with Alliance Autogas to aid the cause for domestic vehicular fuels,” Hyde says in an Alliance release.

“Phoenix has long been a proponent of domestic fuels for U.S. vehicles and propane is a large contributor to the overall solution,” he said. “Propane offers the end user a means of entering the alternative fuel use market with a low initial conversion and infrastructure costs.

Support Is Key

“As the need for alternative vehicular fuels increases in the U.S.,” Hyde said, “Phoenix and the Alliance team is poised to meet this demand with quality, safety, and overall fuel cost reduction for the end user.”

Alliance AutoGas notes that it coordinates propane autogas vehicle conversions, installs propane fueling facilities, and provides propane vehicle maintenance support and training through a network of more than 90 member companies and conversion centers. “It is of the highest importance that Alliance AutoGas provides a quality support network and keep the vehicles running on the road,” organization president Stuart Weidie says in the Phoenix announcement.

Pell City-based Phoenix handles compressed natural gas vehicle conversions too, using equipment from Impco, Landi Renzo USA, Technocarb and Zavoli, Hyde told F&F. Phoenix supports CNG-fueled vans with Westport (BAF) systems operated in his area by AT&T, too.

The firm builds CNG stations as well. Phoenix work includes a Tallahassee, Fla. facility supporting Leon County school buses (F&F, September 6, 2010). Phoenix has ordered equipment ANGI Energy for a new station in Douglas, Ga. too, Hyde says.
