ASME-Approved Units for Up to 96 GGE Added to Product Line
Cobey Energy has secured the necessary ASME qualification and will commence production of compressed natural gas storage spheres at its facility in Buffalo, N.Y. The Cobey-engineered spheres will store CNG at up to 5,000 psi, and be able to hold some 12,000 standard cubic feet of natural gas, or 96 gasoline gallon equivalents.
“CNG spheres are ideal for sites with space constraints and a need for incremental growth of existing on-site storage,” Cobey says.
“Few manufacturers can offer the diverse array of CNG products manufactured under one roof,” Cobey CNG product manager Craig Jackson said in a release. “I strongly believe that Cobey Energy can offer our customers the most economical CNG system available,” he said.
Spheres Complement Existing Package Offerings
Cobey says it received the required ASME U2 stamp for ASME Div. 2 pressure vessels for high pressure CNG storage via the National Board of Boiler & Pressure Vessel Inspectors.
Buffalo-based Cobey introduced its line of CNG filling station systems – including compressor packages, priority fill panels, gas dryers, dispensers and card readers – in 2012.
