Canada’s Largest Fleet of Natural Gas Refuse/Recycling Trucks

Ontario-based Progressive Waste Solutions has officially opened its compressed natural gas fueling facility in Coquitlam, east of Vancouver, which its says supports “the largest fleet of natural gas powered waste and recycling collection vehicles in British Columbia and Canada.”

Watch for Clean Energy Fuels (NASDAQ:CLNE) to step up the promotion of product from CERF, its Clean Energy Renewable Fuels unit, when its project with Republic Services at the Sauk Trail Hills landfill in Canton, Mich. starts producing pipeline-quality natural gas, aka biomethane, later this month.

New York City’s Energy Vision is spreading the word about a new compost-to-biomethane program in British Columbia – designed as an efficient way to make renewable gas to offset the fuel burned by garbage trucks in the city of Surrey, south of Vancouver.
