Biomethane Now Has More Than Half the Market, Says CARB

New figures from the California Air Resources Board indicate that, as of the end of 2015, approximately half of the natural gas being used as a vehicle fuel in the state is bio-based RNG/renewable natural gas, aka biomethane. Only 10% of the state’s NGV fuel consumption was bio-based in 2013, rising to 22% in 2014.

Santa Monica’s CNG and LNG Buses Will All Run on RNG,
Which is Supplied in Liquid Form on a ‘Cost-Neutral’ Basis

The City of Santa Monica in Southern California is trumpeting its shift not only to near 100% natural gas operation but its commitment to biomethane for all of the natural gas buses on its Big Blue Bus line. The supplier is Clean Energy Renewables, which furnishes its Redeem brand landfill-derived liquefied natural gas.
