Power DCPlus ‘Approved and Available via GM Dealer Program

Warren, Mich.-based Bosch Automotive Service Solutions is promoting a DC fast charger priced at less than $10,000, and says that the 24-kilowatt Power DCPlus “has been approved by General Motors and can be ordered through GM’s Dealer Equipment Program.”

The 24-kilowatt Power DCPlus DC fast charger from Bosch Automotive Service Solu-tions is priced at just $9,995.00.

The 24-kilowatt Power DCPlus DC fast charger from Bosch Automotive Service Solu-tions is priced at just $9,995.00.

“Power DCPlus is the smallest, highest-value DC fast charger on the market,” Bosch says. It is “a high-value, physically smaller alternative to larger, more expensive 50-kilowatt options while still dramatically improving charging times versus Level 2 AC charging stations.

“By complying with the SAE J1772 DC Combo standard,” the company adds, “Bosch has aligned with most major automakers offering EVs with DC fast-charging capabilities.”

ChargePoint-Compatible

The Power DCPlus is ChargePoint network-enabled, allowing electric vehicle drivers to access the stations with a ChargePoint card and determine station availability in real-time.

Bosch notes that, unlike AC-based Level 2 charging stations (including its own Bosch Power Xpress and Bosch Power Max units), DC Fast Chargers supply power directly to a vehicle’s battery, resulting in a faster charge. AC stations supply power into a vehicle’s onboard charging system, which must then be converted into DC power to charge the vehicle’s battery.
