Aspro Compressors and Bennett Dispensers in Texas Triangle

CNG 4 America has celebrated the grand opening of a compressed natural gas station in its headquarters town of Katy, west of Houston. The public access station serves local and regional fleets.

“This CNG facility is a part of the Texas Triangle where 10% of our nation’s vehicular traffic travels each day,” says CNG 4 America’s Tim Williams. The station features five new lanes allowing CNG fueling at two dual-sided CNG fast fill dispensers, he told F&F. It is located at a Texaco outlet at I-10 and Katy Fort Bend Road.

CNG Capital?

“The goal, as always, is to provide drivers with a CNG fueling experience that is convenient, fast and provides for the personal needs of drivers,” CNG 4 America Bob Baldwin said in a release. “If Houston is the energy capital of the world and Katy is at the heart of the Energy Corridor, then we should be the CNG capital also.”

CNG 4 America says it is building CNG fueling stations in Houston and throughout Texas, and is expanding to Louisiana, Colorado and other locations selected by fleet customers.

Volume Discounts to Fleets

The company says it will offer volume discounts to fleets in addition to already low CNG fuel prices, allowing for “long-term savings and price predictability.

“In addition, we offer Regional Price Protection Pools for smaller private and public fleets surrounding each of its CNG stations.”

CNG 4 America donates a portion of the proceeds of every gallon sold to support wounded soldiers and their families.

CNG 4 America Too In Second Round of NGV Infrastructure Awards

The Colorado Energy Office has named the awardees for its second round of alternative fuels infrastructure development, announcing Sparq Natural gas for two new compressed natural gas fueling stations and CNG 4 America for one.

‘By the time station construction is completed from the first two rounds of funding, a CNG vehicle will be able to travel the entire north/south distance of the state with access to fueling stations,’ Colorado Energy Office says.

‘By the time station construction is completed from the first two rounds of funding, a CNG vehicle will be able to travel the entire north/south distance of the state with access to fueling stations,’ the Colorado Energy Office says.

CEO notes that it’s now funded 11 stations under the Alt Fuels Colorado program, “increasing the state’s publicly accessible CNG fueling infrastructure by more than two-thirds in less than a year.”

The new Sparq stations are to be in Durango and Eaton, in the southwest corner of north central parts of Colorado, while the new CNG 4 America station is to be in Limon, southeast of Denver.

Two for Two, Four for 11

“We went two for two again,” says Sparq co-founder and CEO Norman Herrera. “There have been 11 awards and Sparq’s won four of them,” he told F&F Friday.

The previous awards to Oklahoma City-based Sparq were for CNG stations in Trinidad and Pueblo. Both towns are on Interstate 25 connecting Denver and Albuquerque (F&F, September 19, 2014).

CNG 4 America recently reported an agreement with 7 Star Travel to build a compressed natural gas fueling station at the 7 Star Travel Center in Sulphur Springs, Texas (F&F, February 23).

Katy, Texas-based CNG 4 America also announced Brian Smerud as its new rep for the Rockies.

$30 Million from CEO Through 2017

According to the Colorado Energy Office, “By the time station construction is completed from the first two rounds of funding, a CNG vehicle will be able to travel the entire north/south distance of the state with access to fueling stations.”

A third round of funding will get underway this summer. CEO says it expects to allocate a total of $30 million during the four years of the Alt Fuels Colorado program, though 2017.
