One of five Gain Clean Fuel stations supporting C.A.T.’s growing fleet of CNG trucks

The first compressed natural gas public station in Quebec has opened up to support C.A.T.’s growing fleet of CNG trucks. On Nov. 13, the station was launched during a ceremony lead by representatives from C.A.T., U.S. Venture Gain Fuel Canada, and Gaz Métro, along with local and regional dignitaries.

Bi-Fuel an $11,000 Option on GM Pickups

GM is asking $11,000 above the suggested base-vehicle price for its compressed natural gas bi-fuel 2013 Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra 2500HD pickups, and began taking orders this past Thursday. With gasoline and diesel prices rising, operators with a CNG option could save $5,000 to $10,000 over a three-year period, GM says.

Conventional Sierra 2500HD pickups in California range in price from $29,100 to $49,985.

Southern California’s Creative Bus Sales reports a sale of 17 compressed natural gas shuttle buses for the Tampa International Airport.

The Ford E-450 chassis, Starcraft body shuttles were converted to CNG using engine upfit kits from BAF Technologies with lightweight Type IV all-composite fuel cylinders from Lincoln Composites. Per-vehicle capacity is 30 GGE-gasoline gallon equivalents.

The vehicles were sold though Creative’s new Transit Plus dealership in Tampa, with the conversions of the 6.8-liter gaseous-prep engines performed by Creative’s Green Alternative Systems unit in Elkhart, Ind.
