Utah-based start-up Nikola Motor has developed a range-extended electric drive truck on offer via an all-inclusive lease for $5,000 per month, with unlimited compressed natural gas fuel included. Nikola has designed the truck – nominally priced at $275,000 – from the ground up and will develop its own network of CNG fueling stations as well, says founder and CEO Trevor Milton.

Like many in the natural gas vehicles industry, Worthington Industries is concerned about the increasing number of compressed natural gas cylinder rupture incidents. Such incidents raise obvious safety concerns, and as well, NGV fleet owners and manufacturers are exposed to significant liability risk, which might eventually threaten the growth and adoption of NGVs.

dHybrid Systems has opened a new manufacturing and assembly facility in Salt Lake City – and says it can produce more than 600 compressed natural gas fuel cylinder arrays per month running a single shift at the 50,000-square-foot facility.
