Order for C-Max Energi Cars Is Ford’s Biggest Ever

Ford and GE said Tuesday that GE will buy 2,000 Ford C-Max Energi plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, marking “Ford’s largest-ever plug-in electrified vehicle fleet sale.” It’s part of GE’s avowed commitment to convert half of its global fleet to alternative fuel vehicles.

Clean Energy Fuels (NASDAQ:CLNE) and GE Oil & Gas are teaming to produce LNG to support the fast-developing ANGH, Clean Energy’s “America’s Natural Gas Highway.” The firms have agreed that ANGH will take most of the output from two GE Ecomagination brand MicroLNG plants – each of which has the potential to dwarf the current U.S. capacity for liquefied natural gas for vehicles.

GE is weighing into natural gas vehicles, teaming with Chesapeake Energy for both compressed natural gas and liquefied natural gas fueling.
