But Nation Could Do More for NGVs, Says Advocate
Some 73% of the fuel for natural gas vehicles in Sweden came from biogas during the first six months of 2015, according to figures from Energigas Sverige, the Swedish Gas Association. It’s an historic high, as the figure has in recent years hovered at about 60%, the organization said Friday.
There are more than 52,000 NGVs in Sweden, according to the release.
‘Model for the World’
“Our high proportion of biogas makes us a model for the world and shows that the green transition is fully possible,” Energigas Sweden managing director Anders Mathiasson said in the biomethane announcement.
“At the same time,” he said, “it is worrying that the rate of increase in the sale of vehicles is now decreasing.
“The government must now quickly provide information about continued tax exemption on biogas, and extension of the reduced taxable benefit,” Mathiasson said.
