Quick Response to Changes in Flow for Steady Downstream Pressure

Cleveland-based Engineered Controls International has introduced a new pressure regulator for liquefied natural gas-fueled vehicles under its RegO badge.

The RegO 1784NG series regulator will be promoted at ACT Expo 2015 being held May 4-7 in Dallas.

'The RegO 1784NG is the only natural gas engine regulator of its kind,' says manufacturer ECI.

‘The RegO 1784NG is the only natural gas engine regulator of its kind,’ says manufacturer ECI.

The 1784NG design includes large seat and diaphragm areas enabling the device to maintain a steady downstream pressure across a range of inlet pressures commonly provided by an LNG fuel tank or cylinder, ECI says.

Faster Response

Pressure to the engine remains steady as flow from the tank varies.

“Competing final line regulators that utilize pistons,” the company adds, “are often slower to respond under similar conditions and are more susceptible to leakage across a required dynamic seal.”
