Oregon Agency’s ‘First Move’ Toward All-Electric Fleet

TriMet, Oregon’s Portland-area Tri-County Metro Transportation District, has ordered five 40-foot all-battery Xcelsior buses from New Flyer, the manufacturer said yesterday. “It is TriMet’s first move in deploying a long-term test of battery-electric buses within their network, in consideration of transition to an all-electric fleet,” New Flyer said.

$1.5 Million Grant Will Help with Maintenance & Training
For Zero Emission Buses via ‘CoEZET’ Center of Excellence

Southern California’s SunLine Transit said this morning that it will use a $1.5 million grant from the Federal Transit Administration to support maintenance and training initiative related to ZEBs – zero emission buses.

Eight of 13 Agencies, $22.8 Million of $55 Million

Proterra is trumpeting word from the Federal Transit Administration that eight of its new and existing customers have won so-called “Low-No” low or no emission vehicle deployment grants – a total of $22.8 million, to purchase 35 Proterra Catalyst buses.
