GE Capital Fleet Services is planning a strong showing in connection with the NAFA Fleet Management Association annual meeting in Minneapolis next week. A pre-conference standout is an interactive “alternative fuel vehicle experience event” for NAFA members at GECFS’s Vehicle Innovation Center in neighboring Eden Prairie on Monday, April 7.

The 2014 NAFA Institute & Expo takes place April 8-11, with the trade show on April 9-10.

Everything in One Place

The April 7 event will allow fleet managers to test drive 35 models of alternative fuel vehicles, GECFS says. The will include Motors’ 100% battery car, Honda’s FCX Clarity hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, the Chevy Impala Bi-fuel CNG, the Echo Automotive bolt-on plug-in hybrid vehicle, and the all-electric BMW i3.

The Eden Prairie event will also feature a presentation from Jeff Evanson, investor relations VP at Tesla Motors.

NAFA notes that the GECFS center features a private half-mile driving course and displays addressing electric, natural gas, propane, and hydrogen AFVs. Visitors may learn about numerous alt fuel cars and trucks in a single location with assistance from fleet, transportation, energy, and advanced technology experts. Manufacturer representatives be on hand too.

Two conference sessions are planned for Monday afternoon at the Eden Prairie center.

Once the NAFA Institute & Expo gets underway at the Minneapolis Convention Center, GECFS representatives will take part in eight conference presentations. Strategic consulting manager James Thompson will moderate the CNG: The Latest on Public Infrastructure session on Tuesday afternoon.
