Virginia Firm Plans to Convert Entire Fleet to CNG

Virginia’s TFC Recycling has ordered diesel-to-natural gas engine conversion kits for the 12-liter Mack E7 engine from Southern California’s Omnitek Engineering – which reports that TFC plans to convert its entire fleet of more than 100 vehicles to operate on natural gas.

Spark-Ignition Natural Gas Variant Added to Growing Line-Up

Omnitek Engineering spread the word at the North American NGV Conference & Expo in Atlanta that it has completed a pilot project involving 21 refuse collection trucks with the Mack E7 engine, which it plans to add, when approved, to its growing line-up of spark-ignition dedicated-natural gas engines. The 12-liter engine is up for U.S. EPA approval of 1998 through 2006 variants, expected in the first quarter of 2014. The trials in California were conducted under a California Air Resources Board waiver.
