May 30 Start in Long Beach for NGVAmerica-Backed Event
The CNG from Sea to Shining Sea compressed natural gas road rally is to commence on May 30 in Long Beach, Calif. and conclude June 10 in Washington, D.C.
Organizers including the presenting sponsors NGVAmerica and the American Public Gas Association, and Midwest Energy Solutions, Memphis Light, Gas and Water (MLGW) and Tennessee’s Gibson County Utilities, are seeking sponsors for the 3,144-mile event.
‘Our Mission Is to Inform and Educate’
“Our mission is to inform and educate the American public to the benefits of natural gas vehicles and the natural gas refueling infrastructure,” states backgrounder circulated by Midwest Energy Solutions.
“When this rally is complete, we will prove that natural gas vehicles can travel across the nation and that there are adequate refueling stations to make this trip a reality.”
Sea to Sea CNG-backer Memphis Light, Gas and Water recently held a successful CNG Rally Across Tennessee event.

Midwest Energy Solutions Design for State-of-the-Art Tennessee Facility
The Gibson County Utility District this week committed to a new compressed natural gas fueling facility in Trenton, Tenn., reports designer Midwest Energy Solutions. The new CNG station will be located north of I-40 between Memphis and Nashville with gas to be supplied by Constellation, a unit of Exelon.
