Still Time to Register as Additional Speakers Named
For Conference Taking Place June 29-30 in Sacramento

Next week, stakeholders from the bioenergy, hydrogen, fuel cell, solar, wind, and natural gas industries will join policymakers in Sacramento to discuss the barriers to the development of a robust and successful renewable gas industry in California – and how to overcome them.

The second Rethink Methane symposium takes place June 29-30 at the Sheraton Grand in Sacramento, Calif.

The registration fee for Rethink Methane 2016 is $325 – for industry. There is no fee for government and non-profit representatives.

The goal of the conference is inform stakeholders from the bioenergy, solar, wind, hydrogen, fuel cell and natural gas industries – and California policymakers – providing insight into the significant environmental, public health, and economic benefits of biomethane/renewable natural gas.

Stakeholders will also learn about changes to be made to policy, regulation and incentives to increase the production and consumption of RNG in the state.

The Debate Will Be in Full Swing

“Several renewable energy bills are on the docket for the 2016 legislative session, so the debate over the policies, regulations, and incentives that should be adopted to encourage the production and consumption of renewable methane is in full swing,” says organizer (and Fleets & Fuels publisher) GNA – Gladstein, Neandross & Associates.

“By demonstrating the viability of your products and services, you can help expand the renewable methane market and create new revenue streams for your organization.”

Rethink Methane attendees will be able to visit the Sacramento BioDigester on June 30. The facility is the largest anaerobic digestion system of its kind in North America. Learn the history of the facility, the feedstocks and regulations involved, and see how the organic waste is processed – from its arrival at the transfer station to its fueling of the haul trucks (F&F, September 29, 2013).

Let GNA’s ‘Grant Guru’ Be Your Guide

May 8, 2015 in ACT Expo 2015, money available, money awarded by Rich Piellisch  |  No Comments

$255 Million and Counting – and a 90%-Plus Success Rate

ACT Expo organizer Gladstein, Neandross & Associates usually takes a back seat once the conference gets rolling, but this year in Dallas promoted up its prowess in securing the grant and incentive money that’s helping make alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles a reality on American roads.

GNA has secured upwards of $255 million for its clients over the years.

Carolyn McGough of GNAThat’s $255 million. Put another way, GNA has helped secure funding for some 2,700 natural gas vehicles and 78 fueling stations.

“We’ve won $255 million and we have more than a 90% success rate,” says Carolyn McGough, senior GNA program manager. “We have written more than 300 grant applications.”

‘Pays for Itself’

“We’ll help you track the opportunities,” she says: GNA maintains a team of eight professionals who track grants across the U.S. and in Canada, keeping tabs on solicitations – and planned solicitations – at the federal, state and local level.

“GNA pays for itself,” McGough says. “We charge clients for this work, but we get them lots of funding.”

“Timing is key,” she notes. More than 500 funding programs are updated on a regular basis, allowing applicants to be ready when solicitations are launched. “This is huge for our clients.”

Helps the Funders Too

It’s also important for the agencies. If they don’t get applicants, those programs can be discontinued. GNA’s vigilance helps make sure they are not.

In addition to writing grants, GNA helps awardees with the reporting requirements that grant money entails. “We make it nice and easy,” McGough says. Hence the term, “Grant Guru.”

It’s not just altruistic. “The grant work that we do has consistently grown the other types of work that we do,” McGough says. That can be market assessment, fleet planning analysis, procurement and infrastructure development, new vehicle and engine certification support, public relations, program management and, of course, event production. As ACT Expo attendees see.
