San Francisco Going to Renewable Diesel

Neste Is Seen as the Likeliest Supplier, Furnishing NEXBTL

The City of San Francisco “will leapfrog its efforts to protect the climate from harmful effects of diesel emissions,” Mayor Ed Lee’s office said this morning, “phasing out the use of petroleum diesel in the municipal fleet and replacing it with renewable diesel by the end of this year.”

Neste’s NEXBTL Renewable Diesel Is to Power

Neste Oil is promoting a journey across the U.S. on a single fill-up: “A team of motorsport enthusiasts will drive from Atlantic Coast of Florida to the Pacific Coast of California on just one tank of renewable fuel.” The trip is planned for June 21-26.

Fuel Based on NEXBTL Process Diesel Offered as Diesel HPR

Propel Fuels is promoting Diesel HPR, a new offering using NEXBTL process-derived product from Finland’s Neste Oil. Going beyond biodiesel, the Neste fuel is designated as ASTM D-975, the standard for all ultra-low sulfur diesel fuel in the U.S., Propel says, and is recognized as “CARB diesel” by the California Air Resources Board.
